A few closing announcements:
Thank you to all our participants for making the exchange a success beyond my wildest dreams! 🔥💖🙏
Thanks for taking the plunge, you did awesome! 🌟🌟🌟
The amazing zombiekittiez worked behind the scenes in a thousand ways: as publicist, recruiter, help desk support, tech support, instruction writer, mentor, beta-reader, graphic designer, data analyst, secret co-conspirator, and my general sounding board. ZK worked with me on a wild plot to get a treat made for every participant, in addition to their main gift. None of this would have been possible without you, THANK YOU for everything! 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you for an incredible time, and congratulations on all your great works!

Extended FAQs
Nominations – What are they? Do I have to use all the tags I nominate? How do you decide what tags to accept?
Nominations help AO3 match people by giving it a “dictionary” of all the topics that can be used for matching. If you request “weddings” and I offer “a wedding”, then AO3 doesn’t know that these are the same topic. But if we both have to pick from a list of topics, then AO3 will know that we can be matched.
The goal here is not to restrict anyone’s creativity, simply to help AO3 understand when people are requesting/offering the same thing. I will not judge any tags, only make edits to wording and spelling.
Tag nominations don’t commit you to anything! Nominating tags does not sign you up to write a fic. Tags are simply a list of what is possible. When you make your requests and offers, feel free to use anyone else’s tags. You don’t have to use all (or even any) of your own nominated tags.
Nominating tags
Go to the tag set and click Nominate.
Fandoms – Enter Ace Attorney for the fandom.
Relationships – Enter relationships that you enjoy in addition to NaruMitsu. Enter / for romantic or sexual, and & for platonic. Feel free to enter groups or descriptions. Solo characters can be nominated as Character & none. Dai Gyakutan Saiban (DGS) characters are fine, but should still be nominated under the Ace Attorney fandom (not DGS). Examples and interpretations:
Additional Tags – Enter topics, tropes, scenarios, or anything you’d like to request or offer. Examples:
How do I sign up?
Go to the Collection and click "Sign-up Form". Your sign-up must include at least one request and one offer. Each request and offer must include at least one genre and four freeform tags. You can modify or delete your sign-up as much as you like until sign-ups close. You can find the sign-up form on the collection’s sidebar.
Requests
You can submit up to ten requests. The Request tells your creator what kind of fic or art you would like to receive.
Medium and Genre
This field reflects medium and overall tone of the work. The exchange is counting on good faith on the creator’s part, and flexibility on the recipient’s. Below are some examples of each:
Works may fall into multiple categories, and that’s fine! I will be flexible about whether a work can reasonably fall into a category. A funny wedding could fulfill a request for Fluff or Comedy, though it would not by itself be Angst or Dark. A character being captured during an investigation could be Plot/Scenario or Angst, and could be Dark depending on what happens to them.
DNWs and how to use them
List any Do Not Wants (DNWs) in the description box. These are topics, tropes, plot points, or anything else that you don’t want to see in your gift. These will be enforced if possible. Unfortunately, only DNWs listed in the description box can be enforced.
DNWs should be clear, neutrally worded, and not overly restrictive. Examples:
DNWs can be the same or different between requests. For example, if I’m squeamish about seeing blood in art, but reading about it is fine, I might say “DNW blood” in an art request, and not have that in a fic request.
What does the “Any” button do?
Check the “Any” box if you would be happy to receive any tag in that field. “Any” truly means any. If you choose “Any”, then DNWs of specific tags cannot be enforced because it’s possible that is the tag your creator matched on.
Why would I need more than one request?
You can use multiple requests to tailor them more specifically. For example, suppose I like fluffy fics with weddings and dark fics with murders. But I do not like weddings that end in tragedy. I would request like this:
But if I request like this, then my creator could very well write me a dark and tragic wedding:
Another example is if you would only like smut in some contexts, for example if you only want smut in art, you could separate your request into art requests and fic requests. You could request E with the art genres, and T with the fic genres.
Offers
You must offer at least one genre and four freeform tags and also use the ratings (T or E) to indicate if you are willing to create a gift containing smut.
Please try to make sure your offer matches at least one request. When sign-ups close, if no requests match your offers, then I will contact you to see if you can offer anything else, and you will have twenty-four hours to reply.
Matching
Matching will be on one medium and genre, one freeform tag, and one rating.
Assignments
Go to your profile and click My Assignments, or go to the Collection and click My Assignments to find your assignment.
You will see all of your recipient’s requests. Pick one request. Create a work that matches one of that request’s mediums-and-genres, freeform tags, and ratings. It’s fine to include tags from other requests, but make sure that all three fields (medium-and-genre, freeform, and rating) are met for one of the requests. Fics must be at least 500 words. Art must be at least a nice sketch on unlined paper.
The overall tone of the work should be the requested genre. The exchange is counting on good faith on the creator’s part, and flexibility on the recipient’s.
If the requested rating is T, then the work should not include smut. If it’s E, then it should contain smut. If both ratings are in the request, then it’s up to you.
Do not include any of the recipient’s DNWs. If you have questions, email me (narumitsudayexchange@gmail.com) or contact me on Discord (Sweetling#8718). Do not contact the recipient directly.
Relationship tags are optional, and prompts in the description box are optional. It’s fine for the work to include tags from other prompts.
Treats
A treat is an extra gift created for a participant who is not your assigned recipient. You can treat regardless of whether you have signed up to the exchange. There are no minimum requirements for treats, but they still need to follow the recipients requested medium-and-genres and ratings, include at least one requested freeform tag, and respect their DNWs.
Defaulting, Extensions, and Pinch Hits
If you can’t complete your assignment, please default as soon as you know, so we can find a pinch hit for your recipient. To default, go to your “Assignments” page on AO3, find this exchange and click “Default.”
On the other hand, if you are confident of finishing and need a bit of extra time, email me (narumitsudayexchange@gmail.com) or contact me on Discord (Sweetling#8718) and ask for an extension.
Pinch hits will be posted to the dreamwidth community. To pick up a pinch hit, you can either comment on the post or contact me directly (narumitsudayexchange@gmail.com or Sweetling#8718 on Discord). Anyone can comment on the post, you do not need a dreamwidth account. All comments will be screened for anonymity.
How do I submit my assignment, pinch hit, or treat?
Go to Post and select New Work. Scroll down to Associations. You may see a field labeled “Does this fulfill a challenge assignment.”
General
Please maintain anonymity in public/semi-public spaces before creator reveals! It’s fine to say “I’m so excited about my assignment,” but please don’t give out specific details such as what tags you’re using.
Please be kind about your recipient and their requests.
Please comment on your gift during the anonymous reveal week, saying at least one thing you like about it.
Thanks and be awesome!
